Using Pinterest to Get Sales to Your Shopify Store

If you are already own a Shopify store then you probably already know the tools that are built into the platform to help you drive social media traffic. For example, you can add the Buy It Now button to a Pinterest post. A lot of people do not realize how much social media can drive sales to your store, especially Pinterest.  Don’t make the mistake of underestimating the platform, just because it deals mainly in pictures does not mean people do not buy from there.   • Create a coupon for your wares on Groupon Or use an application like Wishpond.com.  Once you have created your coupons, start posting it on a Pinterest coupon board. Pinterest users love the idea of saving money with coupons and the exclusivity  that the platform provides. They will think that no one else has the opportunity they have on other platforms. You have the option to even advertise your coupon on Pinterest if you have the budget.
  •   Always optimize your Pinterest board for SEO. There are a lot of people who do not do this.  Stay ahead of the game. If you do proper search engine optimization work on your pins and boards you will reap the rewards of doing so.  
  • Drive traffic to your store by running contests. Everyone likes to save money and get what they want. Contests are very viral in nature  and will create buzz around what you’re offering. Running Pinterest contest will get you noticed by an entirely different audience, perhaps an audience you otherwise may have not been exposed to.  You can do it one of three ways. You can post the pictures on Pinterest or post them from your Shopify store. You can also use wishpond.com to post, but that will cost you some money.
  •  Be sure to use rich pins. Rich pins allow you to post on a specific product you are        selling. Rich pins allow you to update quantity, price and availability very easily. Rich pins are also ideal for search engines. You’ll get a substantial amount of free traffic from Google just by posting rich pins on Pinterest.  Many users have reported getting traffic for many years after they have posted on Pinterest.com.

Pinterest is an excellent long-term strategy to drive traffic to your Shopify store. You can view free or paid options, both work very well.
