Success in Ecommerce is NOT easy… the devil is in the details.   You need to know WHAT to buy and WHEN.  It’s very easy to overpay for something if  you’re not careful.  Just because it looks cheap,  doesn’t mean it is.  Vendors use all sort of tricks to get Price Per Item as LOW as possible… because that’s what people are paying attention to.  You could pay 1 dollar for 500 widgets,  but if they don’t sell,  you have wasted your dollar.   We only consider buying things that have a high turn around.  We determine that turnaround via several methods…  We also consider the number of items in the lot…. It is better to have a smaller number of items (that sell) with a higher retail value than it is to have  twice as many items at the same retail value.  For example,  it costs more to process 500 items with a retail value of $2500 than it would to process 100 items with the same retail value.  So why don’t we just buy up everything ourselves?  Sounds good,  but we don’t have the resources to do that so we decided to pass on the opportunity to you.
